The Invitation for The Estate Concert

The 41,000 square foot Hayes Mansion is one of California's most unique and historic residences designed by architect George Page and completed in 1905.

This Edenvale Estate was a center of social and political activity and was visited by Presidents William McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt and Herbert Hoover.

Mary Hayes Chenoweth, matriarch of the Hayes Family, built the 65 room Mediterranean Revival-style mansion to replace an earlier Victorian one which had been destroyed by fire. While she did not live to occupy the mansion herself, her two sons and their families lived in the house for four decades.

This home was the site of a 1997 estate concert for 300 invited guests and was used to draw attention to the plight of women in crisis pregnancy. Internationally acclaimed concert pianist Sam Rotman joined me in this evening concert.

The Heritage of Hope ...

In San Jose, California, on North 3rd Street, is an old Victorian home. It looks like so many others, but what makes this house so warm and so beautiful, is what is happening inside it. This house is called Hertiage Home, and for fifteen years a dedicated few, under the leadership of Steve Tolliver, have labored without applause or recognition on behalf of women in crisis pregnancy.

Since 1984, more than 750 women have chosen the quiet refuge of Heritage Home as a safe haven for difficult living situations. Over 150 new-born babies have been adopted into loving and caring homes. Did you know that today, one in five pregnant adolescents needs a safe refuge because they are victims of physical or sexual abuse, and that many of these women simply do not have access to adequate prenantal care, thereby endangering their own life and the life of their unborn baby?

I am proud of my friend Steve Tolliver, and his crew who are working to provide effective answers to these enormous challenges that young women in crisis pregnancy face. It is hard work for difficult problems, but Heritage Home is making that difference ... one life at a time.

In partnering with Steve and Heritage Home, I have discovered that I have created a heritage in my own heart. A heritage that only comes from reaching out and investing in the lives of others. Email me for more information regarding Heritage Home. You will be surprised what heritage, you too can create, and what an even greater heritage you and I can create together.
